The Sun Wharf is a striking new Wetherspoons pub that occupies the former site of the iconic London Dungeon tourist attraction, located next to the entrance of London Bridge Station.
The interior design features a bold mix of materials, including eye-catching terrazzo-effect porcelain tiles and deep navy rectangular wall tiles. These elements combine to create visually stunning and contemporary bathroom spaces that complement the overall aesthetic of the venue.
In the walkway areas, a playful speckled terrazzo tile adds character and contrast. This is paired with wood-effect porcelain plank tiles, offering the warm, natural look of wood with the durability and low maintenance of porcelain, ideal for high-traffic hospitality environments.
The venue also showcases original brick arches, a nod to the site’s historic roots. These arches were once home to importers and provision agents who relied on the warehouses across the street.
While some of those buildings have been preserved, such as Hay’s Wharf, now transformed into Hay’s Galleria, others, including Fenning’s Wharf and Sun Wharf, made way for the No.1 London Bridge development in 1984.
The name The Sun Wharf honours this rich industrial heritage. Verona was proud to supply a diverse range of high-quality porcelain and ceramic wall and floor tiles for this landmark project.
