FAQs

Are marble‑effect tiles natural stone?

No. Marble‑effect tiles are not natural stone. They are porcelain or ceramic tiles engineered to replicate the appearance of real marble using high‑definition digital printing and glazing technologies. This allows specifiers to achieve a marble aesthetic with far greater consistency, durability, and performance control than natural stone.

Do marble‑effect tiles need sealing?

No. Unlike natural marble, marble‑effect porcelain tiles do not require sealing. Their vitrified structure gives them very low water absorption (typically ≤0.5%), making them resistant to staining, moisture, and chemical exposure. This reduces maintenance requirements and lifecycle costs, especially in commercial environments.

What’s the difference between marble and marble‑effect tiles?

Marble is a porous, natural stone that needs sealing and regular care. Marble‑effect tiles are porcelain or ceramic alternatives that mimic the look while providing better scratch resistance, stain resistance and long‑term durability.

Where should marble‑effect tiles be used?

They’re suitable for commercial and residential spaces including commercial floors, hotel lobbies, retail spaces, bathrooms, kitchens and feature walls. Their durability and low maintenance make them ideal for high‑traffic environments and luxury interiors alike.
