Drawing on its extensive experience in high-performance commercial tile specifications, Verona Architectural Tiles worked with architect FaulknerBrowns and main contractor Kier on the Sunderland Riverside Regeneration Project, helping to create a light, contemporary finish across the development.
Key members of the FaulknerBrowns team included Ben Harrison and Jake Feeney, with retired architect Steve Dickson also playing a significant role in the selection of finishes. P.Plunkett Tiling was appointed as the tiling contractor, with Mark Henderson and Jake Lightfoot closely involved in the installation.
The project formed part of the Sunderland Riverside Regeneration Project, with Verona Architectural also supplying tiles for the HICSA, Faber and Maker Buildings, and The City Hall as part of the scheme.
Approximately 4,500m² of tiles were supplied across the project, predominantly featuring our Niza range in 800x800mm Niza Beige and Niza Monaco Beige Anti Slip. 600x600mm Powder Snow and Plumb Matt were also specified to complement the scheme.
“The tiles were selected for their light, airy aesthetic and natural stone appearance, perfectly complementing both the building and its surroundings. The architect wanted to create an authentic, natural look, with subtle variations between the two designs, while also benefiting from excellent slip resistance and superior technical performance. The VA Niza range ticked every box.”
